Environmental Restoration Technician

HENDERSON LLC, a progressive aquatic science and habitat restoration leader in the Pacific Northwest, seeks an Environmental Restoration Technician for work out of our Lake Oswego, Oregon office.  Successful candidates will possess personal and professional interests that integrate into our team’s natural systems field restoration efforts.  Initially, this is a non-exempt, full-time seasonal (limited) position reporting to HENDERSON project managers.  Opportunity exists for successful candidates to earn a full-time, year-round position with the company based upon performance.  Hourly compensation is commensurate with required project pay rates, based upon a minimum of $15/hour.  Compensation may be subject to state/federal prevailing wage rules if applicable to individual projects.  HENDERSON is an EEO employer.

  • Leadership Experience: proven experience in leadership role within field construction staff
  • Work Ethic: reliable, team-oriented work ethic and dedication to work schedule
  • Self-directed: work independently as well as within a small project team, largely self-directed to meet or exceed project maintenance requirements
  • Organizational Skills: plan and coordinate implementation and adaptive field management on restoration/mitigation sites
  • Field Safety Training: contribute to pre-construction field training sessions to help ensure crew safety throughout field restoration
  • Communication: communicate well and in a timely manner within the project team and with the project manager(s)
  • Physical Ability: safely lift 30+ lbs. as a consistent part of the work day in performance of project duties
  • Equipment Management: safely operate maintenance field equipment (pumps, chainsaws, weed trimmers, etc.), as well as to safely tow and position a work trailer
  • Erosion Control Management: experience with erosion control best management practices
  • Vegetation Management: experience with invasive species treatment and/or removal, and native riparian/wetland planting and seeding
  • Valid Driver’s License: must have a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation and clean driving record
