Landscape Field Crew Laborer

HENDERSON LLC, a progressive aquatic science and native habitat restoration leader in the Pacific Northwest, seeks candidates to fill multiple Landscape Field Crew Laborer positions for work managed out of our Lake Oswego, Oregon office. Successful candidates will possess personal and professional interests that integrate into our team’s natural systems field restoration efforts. These positions are non-exempt, full-time seasonal with the possibility of extension/annual renewal. HENDERSON, LLC is an EEO employer.

Job Summary: Field Crew Laborers perform highly physical and demanding work in variable PNW weather conditions and often in difficult terrain and/or remote locations (with occasional overnight stays). Laborers report directly to Crew Leads. Candidates will have experience and skills related to planting and landscaping, including use of maintenance tools and equipment, as well as the ability and desire to learn site specific tasks.

Responsibilities and Duties
1. Native tree and shrub plantings, seeding and mulching, irrigation installation and maintenance, mechanical and chemical invasive weed management, vegetation management, erosion control, and general landscape labor.
2. Work safely for long periods of time (8 or 10-hour work day) often in inclement weather, rough terrain, and various site conditions.
3. Safely lift 30+ lbs. as a consistent part of the work day in performance of project duties.

Qualifications and Skills
1. Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record and/or reliable transportation.
2. Must be able to travel and stay overnight within northwest Oregon and southwest Washington for limited durations.
3. Must have demonstrated ability and experience using landscaping tools and techniques.
4. Must have a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and act as a team player.
5. Must have the ability to recognize or be trained on recognizing native and invasive plants.
6. Possession of or ability to obtain a pesticide applicator license is preferred (not required).

Starting compensation is commensurate with experience and ranges from $15.75 to $18.00 hourly. Compensation may be subject to state/federal prevailing wage rules if applicable to individual projects.
